AMS Schiphol to FSWeekend
Pro Tip for Attendees
Public transportation in the Netherlands is world-class, fast, and significantly cheaper than taxis, rideshares or rental cars! A train from Schiphol Airport to Utrecht takes around 30 minutes and costs only 20% compared to an Uber or Taxi. Simply tap in and out at train gates and bus doors using your contactless credit/debit card or mobile phone.
Rideshare
Both Uber and Bolt are available at Amsterdam Airport Schiphol (AMS). After exiting baggage claim into Schiphol Plaza, follow the yellow signage for “App pick-up point”. Meet your driver at the designated pickup bays (E1–E6) located a short walk outside the main terminal.
Taxi
Official taxi service is available directly outside the main exit of Schiphol Plaza. Follow the yellow signs for “Taxis” to the official taxi rank, where staff are available to assist passengers into waiting vehicles. For safety and to avoid scams, never accept unsolicited rides from individuals inside the terminal building.
Rental Cars
Several major rental car companies (including Avis, Budget, Hertz, Sixt, Europcar, and Enterprise) operate directly at the airport. All rental car desks are consolidated at the Car Rental and Service Desk in Schiphol Plaza (the airport’s main foyer). Simply follow the “Car Rental” signs after exiting baggage claim to complete your paperwork. Staff will direct you to the adjoining parking garage to collect your vehicle.

The city center of Utrecht is vibrant and exceptionally walkable. Staying near Utrecht Central Station places dozens of hotels, restaurants, and nightlife options right at your doorstep.
Alternatively, staying directly in Houten swaps city energy for convenience. You’ll enjoy quiet surroundings and a stress-free commute just 5 minutes from Expo Houten. The trade-off? Houten is a calm suburban town with far fewer dining options and virtually no nightlife once the show ends.
